Ganesh Sthapana Puja is a sacred ritual performed during Ganesh Chaturthi or other auspicious occasions to invoke Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the god of wisdom and prosperity. The Vinayaka’s Pooja box samagri (materials) used in the puja holds great significance because each item symbolizes a particular spiritual meaning and is believed to bring blessings. Here's why the samagri is important:

1.     KumKum and Turmeric (Haldi):

Turmeric and kumkum, both included in the Vinayaka’s Pooja Box, are integral to Hindu rituals, symbolizing prosperity, purity, and protection. Turmeric, linked to Jupiter, is believed to balance chakras and invite good fortune, while kumkum, representing Mars, wards off negativity.

2.     Chandan:

It stimulates the Anjani Chakra the centre of our thoughts. When we apply the tilak to the forehead of the deity and attracts the deity’s divine energies and bring in positive energies. It also has a cooling effect and cools the mind keeping us calm. Chandan has satvik elements to enhance ones spirituality.

3.     Gulal

The Vinayaka’s Pooja Box also includes gulal, whose fragrant particles attract the Shakti (Divine Energy) Principle in the Universe. The gulal's subtle fragrance energizes dormant waves enriched with Chaitanya (Divine consciousness), providing spiritual benefits to the worshipper.

4.     Sindoor

This red powder is used in Ganesh Poojan for purification and protection. Applying sindoor to Lord Ganesha’s idol enhances the inner eyes and purifies the surroundings. It symbolizes a plea for divine protection and is a traditional offering to express devotion and reverence. The vibrant red color of sindoor also represents vitality and auspiciousness. 

5.     Mauli

Mauli, a sacred thread included in the Vinayaka’s Pooja Box, is an auspicious symbol believed to purify and sanctify. It represents faith and devotion, serving as a key element in expressing one's spiritual belief during the puja.

6.     Yagnopavit (White Janeu Thread)

In a Ganesh Pooja, the Yagnopavit (sacred thread) is considered important because it symbolizes the wearer's commitment to knowledge, spiritual discipline, and the pursuit of righteousness, which are qualities closely associated with Lord Ganesha. Wearing the Yagnopavit signifies a state of readiness to receive blessings and guidance from Ganesha while performing the puja. 

7.     Agarbatti

The fragrant emissions of agarbattis or dhoop play a vital role in ganesh poojan because sanctify the atmosphere and infuse it with positivity. These aromatic scents permeate the air, enhancing its sanctity and purity, thereby contributing to the spiritual ambiance of the occasion

8.     Gangajal

The Vinayaka’s Pooja Box includes Gangajal, the sacred water from the Ganges river. It is used to cleanse the space and oneself before beginning the prayers, signifying purity and a devoted state of mind to receive Lord Ganesha’s blessings.

9.     Supari (Betel Nut)

Supari is given such significance that it can represent an idol of Lord Ganesha in pooja and can also represent a wife's presence at a religious ritual. It is believed that the small and conical-shaped (Shikhar) Supari is considered auspicious for the rituals/pooja as its conical shape attracts positive energy.

10.  Kapoor:

Burning Kapoor (camphor) during Ganapati pooja is significant because as per the Vedas, camphor's fragrance pleases god, and its radiance merges with him. That is, with camphor, Ganapati feels welcomed and happy and is more likely to bless those present at the Pooja.
